NMA urges Ondo senator-elect to provide quality representation in senate

The Ondo State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association has urged the newly elected Senator Francis Faduyile to provide quality representation of his people in the upper chamber.
Faduyile, a candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress and former National President of the Nigeria Medical Association, was declared the winner of Saturday’s bye-election in Ondo South Senatorial District.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, Faduyile polled 68,474 votes to defeat Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied People’s Movement, who scored 1,411 votes. Adesanya Olaoluwa of Action People’s Party and Clement Funso-Nejo of Boot Party recorded 213 and 70 votes, respectively.
In a statement jointly issued on Monday by the Chairman and Secretary of the Ondo NMA, Dr Alonge Olumuyiwa and Dr Olaopa Gideon, respectively, the association congratulated the senator-elect on the victory at the poll and charged him to exhibit dedication, professionalism and his passion for excellence in the Senate.
The group said, ” Your emergence as the winner of the by-election is a testament to your exemplary leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to public service, qualities you demonstrated so brilliantly as a distinguished medical practitioner, academic, and former National President of the NMA. We are proud that one of our own has been entrusted with this high responsibility of representing the good people of Ondo South in the Red Chamber.
“We have no doubt that you will bring the same dedication, professionalism, and passion for excellence that defined your tenure in the NMA to the Senate. Your victory is not just personal but a victory for the medical profession and for quality representation in Ondo State.
“As you prepare to assume this new mandate, be assured of the continued support and prayers of the NMA Ondo State family.”
The association expressed readiness to collaborate with the senator-elect in advancing healthcare policies and the overall development of our Sunshine State and the nation in general.
