DJ Chicken arrested over viral video on Tinubu’s son — Lawyer

A Nigerian lawyer, Rotimi Stephen, has alleged that controversial disc jockey and TikTok personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has been arrested over a viral video in which he made remarks about Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Stephen disclosed this in a video posted on his Instagram page on Thursday, saying DJ Chicken was arrested in Ikeja and taken into custody at the Ikeja Police headquarters.
The lawyer said he believed operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) were also involved in the arrest, which he linked to comments DJ Chicken made few days ago about Seyi Tinubu.
He stated, “So, Dj Chicken is now with the authorities. He was arrested at Ikeja and he is now at Ikeja Police headquarters but I am very sure it is the DSS. He was arrested in connection with the sttement he made some days ago about the son of the president, Seyi Tinubu.”
Stephen appealed to supporters of the comedian and persons with access to the Presidency to intervene and help secure his release, saying the video believed to have led to the arrest was already in circulation.
He also described DJ Chicken as someone he had taken a personal interest in and supported over the years as part of his effort to give back to society and assist young people.
He pleaded, “Please, fans and well wishers please. People that like Chicken and people that are close with the presidency please forgive Chicken. He is not that okay. We are just managing him. Chicken is my own personal project. It is my own part of giving back to the society.
“I just picked interest in him as a criminal lawyer. We are just managing him and he knows. he is still part of the society. We are begging please. Government should please forgive him. We will do everything.”
The lawyer, while expressing frustration over the development, said he did not know what next to do.
“I don’t know what to do again. They should please,” he said.
DJ Chicken, known for his outspoken and controversial social media content, had recently posted a video in which he made controversial remarks about Seyi Tinubu.
After the video sparked reactions online, the entertainer released another video apologising to Tinubu, saying the earlier clip was made to generate engagement and increase his earnings as a content creator.
