Two foreign nationals affiliated with the Jehovah’s Witnesses have been filmed voluntarily participating in Ghana’s nationwide clean-up exercise at Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti Region, drawing praise from residents and social media users alike.
The video shows the two men working alongside Ghanaian volunteers, using tools to clear waste and debris from the roadside, with a truck and other participants in high-visibility vests seen assisting in the effort nearby.
Their participation forms part of the broader two-day National General Cleaning Exercise declared by President John Dramani Mahama for July 10 and 11, aimed at addressing the aftermath of deadly flooding that struck several regions in late June.
Asokore Mampong, home to a well-established Jehovah’s Witnesses assembly hall and convention centre, has previously hosted various community sanitation initiatives.
The identities of the two men and the specific circumstances of their involvement have not been independently confirmed.
It is unclear whether their participation was formally organized by the religious group or an individual decision by the men themselves.
