A Nigerian lady has gone public with allegations that she was violently assaulted and threatened with a knife by a man in Lagos after she rejected his romantic advances during a visit to his home, in a video that has sparked widespread reaction online.
According to her account, the lady, who is not identified by name in the video, said she had been interacting with the man on TikTok and travelled from Otukpo to visit him in Lagos.
She alleged that upon meeting him in person, he attempted to touch her and make advances, which she rejected after deciding she was not interested in him upon seeing him in reality.
She claimed the rejection triggered a violent response, with the man allegedly beating her and threatening to kill her with a knife, before she managed to escape the residence. Visible bruising and swelling around one eye can be seen in the video.
The lady further alleged that after escaping, she attempted to report the incident but felt her complaint was not taken seriously by those she approached, though she did not specify whether this refers to police or another authority.
