Headless Body Found Inside UNIJOS Permanent Site

The body of a man was discovered beh3aded on Tuesday at the Permanent Site of the University of Jos, Plateau State.

It was gathered that the victim’s severed head was taken away by the ass@ilant(s).

Several students and staff members of the university, including the institution’s Chief Security Officer, Mr Agama Tangni, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

According to the Chief Security Officer, the deceased was neither a student nor a staff member of the university.

He confirmed that someone was beh3aded on the premises, clarifying that the victim had no affiliation with the institution.

According to him, the identity of the deceased is known because of his regular presence at the location, explaining that the spot where he was att@cked was where he usually came for farming, typically arriving very early in the morning.

Tangni said preliminary indications pointed to a targeted att@ck, noting that although it was unclear whether the ass@ilants had been monitoring the victim beforehand, the circumstances suggested he was specifically targeted, k!lled and beh3aded, with the perpetrators fleeing with his severed head.

He added that the deceased’s relatives had been notified and that the body had been deposited at the Bingham University Teaching Hospital.

The CSO said the university management had been briefed on the development and would communicate further with the university community, noting that the institution planned to issue a memo or share information across its official platforms.

The Plateau State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of the time of filing this report.

When contacted, the command’s spokesperson, Alabo Alfred, could not be reached for comment, as his phone indicated it was switched off.

Meanwhile, security has been heightened around the university’s permanent site as investigations continue.
