A Nigerian man has gone viral after sharing the surprising birthday gift he received from his ex-girlfriend, admitting it almost made him reconsider their past relationship.
Posting on his X account, @Mikelliberation, the man revealed that his former partner sent him ₦50,000 as a birthday present, leaving him both grateful and emotional.
According to him, she was the first person to call and wish him a happy birthday in the early hours of the day. Shortly afterward, she credited his Opay account with ₦50,000 and followed it up with a heartfelt message.
“Take that money and spoil yourself today. I’m grateful you existed in my life,” she reportedly wrote.
The unexpected gesture nearly convinced him to ask for another chance at the relationship. However, after reflecting on the reasons they broke up, he decided against reopening the chapter and instead transferred the money to his savings account.
“The birthday gift was thoughtful. The self-control afterwards was even more impressive,” he wrote.
His post quickly gained traction online, with many social media users sharing their opinions on the situation.
