Kogi APC stakeholders pass confidence vote in Tinubu, back Faleke

Stakeholders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi, alongside prominent socio-political groups, have passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections and defended the member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, against recent criticisms.

In a joint statement issued on Thursday by Comrade Enemona John of the Kogi State Advocacy Group for Peace and Development and Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed of the Kogi APC Stakeholders Forum, the leaders described Faleke as a “peace-loving and purposeful” politician whose contributions to Kogi State and the APC remain significant.

The stakeholders condemned what they called media attacks against the federal lawmaker, describing them as politically motivated attempts to tarnish his image.

“Hon. James Faleke is one of the most organized, purposeful, and stable political figures in Nigeria today,” Enemona said.

“He has remained loyal to the progressive cause and has consistently used his influence to support development and stability in Kogi State.”

Mohammed said Faleke’s strategic involvement has strengthened the APC’s position in Kogi and contributed to the party’s confidence ahead of future elections.

“Because of Hon. Faleke’s loyalty and strategic input, we are confident of delivering Kogi State for the APC and President Tinubu in future elections. He has also facilitated opportunities and appointments for many Kogi indigenes,” he said.

The group dismissed a recent anonymous statement urging President Tinubu to “call Faleke to order,” describing its authors as faceless political actors driven by envy.

“These are desperate individuals who see Faleke’s relationship with the President as a threat to their interests. We urge the Presidency to ignore such baseless petitions,” Mohammed added.

The stakeholders also highlighted Faleke’s recent donation of patrol vehicles to the Smart Police Divisional Headquarters in Ekinrin-Adde, Kogi West, noting that the gesture had been commended by the Kogi State Government.

Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, was quoted as conveying Governor Ahmed Ododo’s appreciation to the lawmaker for supporting security efforts in the state.

The statement further claimed that Faleke has contributed to intelligence gathering, logistics, and inter-agency collaboration aimed at improving security across Kogi.

“The man who was recently praised for supporting security and development in the state cannot suddenly be portrayed as a troublemaker,” Enemona said.

The APC stakeholders urged Faleke to remain focused and ignore what they described as distractions from disgruntled political elements.

“His legacy of peace, philanthropy, and progress speaks for itself. Kogi APC stakeholders stand firmly with him and with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement concluded.
