Transfer: Falconets striker joins Portuguese champions, Benfica

Falconets striker, Janet Akekoromowei has sealed a move to Portuguese champions Benfica, DAILY POST reports.
Akekoromowei linked up with Benfica from Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, outfit, Bayelsa Queens.
The 18-year-old was the Most Valuable Player in the NWFL last year.
Akekoromowei was previously linked with Spanish giants Barcelona but the move fell through after she sustained an injury, while on international duty in February.
She was part of Falconets squad to the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia and played three matches during the tournament.
The striker has also been capped at full international level by Nigeria.
