City Boy Movement sacks Oyo State Coordinator, names replacement

The City Boy Movement (CBM) has announced the removal of Ahmed Ajibola as its Oyo State Coordinator following disciplinary proceedings over allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination and conduct deemed prejudicial to the interests of the movement.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Director-General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga.
Ajibola’s removal comes barely two months after the Movement issued him a formal notice to show cause, demanding that he respond to several allegations contained in a petition submitted against him.
According to the notice personally signed by the Movement DG on June 2, 2026, Ajibola was accused of making abusive, insulting and derogatory remarks against the national leadership of the Movement, including the Director-General.
The petition also alleged that he made offensive comments concerning the Movement’s Patron, Barr. Seyi Tinubu, directed derogatory remarks at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, engaged in acts of insubordination and disrespect towards constituted authority.
Other allegations included challenging a leader of the movement in state to a physical confrontation, allegedly creating division and factionalisation within the Oyo State chapter, and engaging in conduct capable of bringing the image and reputation of the City Boy Movement into disrepute.
The Movement had directed Ajibola to submit a written defence within 48 hours, warning that failure to provide a satisfactory response could result in further disciplinary action.
In a related development, the leadership of the City Boy Movement has appointed Hon. Adewale Oladiti as the new State Coordinator for Oyo State.
According to his appointment letter dated August 6, 2026, Oladiti’s appointment was based on his commitment, grassroots engagement and willingness to contribute to the growth and advancement of the organisation in Oyo State.
The appointment letter also clarified that the State Coordinator reports directly to the Oyo State Director of the City Boy Movement and operates under the Director’s authority, supervision and overall leadership.
It further stated that the State Director remains the principal head and chief coordinating authority of the Movement in Oyo State.
