Afrobeats musician David Adeleke has called on Osun State residents to renounce violence and intimidation in advance of the forthcoming governorship election, encouraging peaceful civic participation.

Speaking during a youth-focused campaign event supporting Governor Ademola Adeleke, Adeleke characterised the incumbent as among the state’s most accomplished leaders and expressed certainty of his re-election.

He described the governor’s tenure as evidenced by tangible development projects, institutional integrity and administrative effectiveness.

Adeleke positioned his remarks as representative of youth interests rather than merely entertainment-sector commentary, acknowledging the electoral period’s emotional intensity whilst urging composure among all stakeholders.

He voiced confidence in the incumbent’s third successive electoral victory and appealed directly to voters to resist violence, intimidation and destructive conduct.

He stressed that electoral participation constituted a fundamental right deserving protection from fear and coercion.

Adeleke additionally appealed to political leadership to maintain electoral peace, referencing unconfirmed reports suggesting possible external interference in Osun’s electoral process.

Invoking personal connections to the state through his spouse’s lineage from another Nigerian state, he reiterated calls for unrestricted electoral expression and candidate selection.

Adeleke concluded by emphasising that electoral outcomes should reflect popular choice rather than political manoeuvring and that no electoral objective justifies jeopardising public safety or lives.

He advocated for democratic processes to determine outcomes whilst urging acceptance of electoral results irrespective of favourability to particular interests.
