He repeatedly described me as "lazy and useless" – Suspect reveals why he k!lled man in Ghana

The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two brothers in connection with the k!lling of a 54-year-old man and the injury of his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija, Ghana. 

The suspects, identified as Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, were arrested with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) following the incident on August 6, 2026.

The victims, identified as 54-year-old Mohammed Rahman and his 53-year-old wife, Christiana Fosu, were found outside their four-bedroom apartment with gunshot wounds.

They were subsequently rushed to Finney Hospital in Weija, where Mohammed Rahman was pronounced d3ad on arrival. 

His wife was referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment and is currently on admission, responding to treatment.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.

According to the police, Adams Adder Almeida admitted during investigation to shooting the couple. 

He told investigators that he was motivated by his belief that Rahman has repeatedly described him as “lazy and useless”, which he claimed had affected him mentally. 

The suspect later led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered from beneath the well drop.

Police investigations established that Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, who works with the deceased, reside together in the same room at Tuba.

Adams also told investigators that the pistol had allegedly been given to him by a friend identified as Gideon. 

He subsequently led police to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but the suspect was not found.

The police said efforts are ongoing to locate Gideon, while Bala Bilyon remains in custody assisting with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
