A video showing a man flogging his young daughter has sparked outrage online, after it emerged the punishment was linked to the child’s habit of repeatedly entering the fridge to take items stored inside.
According to information gathered, the child had reportedly made a habit of going into the fridge to help herself to food and other items kept there, a behaviour that had apparently become frequent despite efforts to stop it.
Frustrated by the recurring issue, the father is said to have resorted to flogging her in an attempt to correct the behaviour.
The video, which was recorded and shared online, has since drawn widespread condemnation from netizens, many of whom criticised the severity of the punishment and questioned the decision to film and post the incident publicly rather than addressing it privately.
