A heated moment at the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) has reportedly turned chaotic after a disagreement involving supporters and representatives of St. Augustine’s College (Augusco), Anlo Senior High School, and Kumasi Senior High School.
According to reports, tension began after Anlo SHS contestants and their supporters felt they had been unfairly treated during the competition.
The disagreement reportedly escalated, leading to a confrontation among some individuals at the venue.
In the midst of the confusion, contestants from Anlo SHS and Kumasi SHS reportedly walked off the stage, while contestants from St. Augustine’s College remained seated.
The incident attracted attention from those present as arguments and exchanges continued, disrupting the atmosphere of the prestigious academic competition.
The NSMQ, which brings together some of Ghana’s top senior high schools to compete in science and mathematics, has over the years attracted passionate support from schools, with intense rivalries often creating emotional moments.
