Odogwu Asaba’s wife: My husband had affair with 20-year-old, not rape + Video

The wife of embattled Delta State content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has denied allegations that her husband raped 20-year-old Favour Agbro, saying he only had an affair with the deceased.

The woman, whose name was not disclosed, made the claim in a video uploaded on her husband’s page on Wednesday, insisting that she would continue to stand by him.

The Delta State Police Command had arrested Ogbonna, 40, over the alleged rape of Favour, who later died after ingesting a toxic substance.

The police said Ogbonna allegedly invited Favour to Asaba under the guise of teaching her content creation before taking her to a hotel, where he allegedly raped and physically assaulted her.

But speaking in the video, Ogbonna’s wife rejected the rape allegation.

“Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody. I know my husband…. Odogwu Asaba did not rape Favour. Odogwu Asaba only had an affair with the girl,” she said.

She added: “He cannot rape, he has never. Even when he did not have fame, he did not rape anybody, is it now?”

The woman said she had been following developments surrounding the case and decided to speak after learning more about the matter.

“I am trying to follow the matter the right way; I have not been silent.

“I want to let you people know that no matter what happened, he is my husband and I stand with him 100%.

“I’m not going to turn my back on him,” she said.

She also urged members of the public not to treat social media discussions as a substitute for the legal process.

“How I feel, what I feel, how I see it is my personal decision.

“Everything is not actually the way they presented it.

“Before I could come out to talk, I have learnt a lot about this matter.

“Social media is not a courtroom. You people should bear that in mind,” she said.

The woman acknowledged Favour’s death and said it was the reason she had approached the matter cautiously.

“Yes, someone has died and that is why we are taking it easy. But Odogwu Asaba did not kill anybody,” she said.

She added that Ogbonna would have the opportunity to give his own account of what happened when he returns.

The woman said she had been married to Ogbonna for eight years and that they have four children together.

The police had earlier alleged that Favour travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna offered to train her on how to monetise her TikTok and Facebook pages through content creation.

According to the police, Favour later returned home distressed and narrated the alleged incident to her parents before recording a video about her ordeal.

She subsequently ingested a toxic substance and died while receiving treatment.

The police said Ogbonna’s arrest followed a petition by Favour’s family and that investigations were ongoing.

The command later said the content creator would be charged to court.
