A Queen Mother has fallen from a palanquin during the ongoing Mozama Festival at Gomoa Tarkwa in Ghana’s Central Region.

The incident occurred as chiefs and queen mothers gathered at the festival grounds to participate in the colourful traditional celebrations and showcase the cultural heritage of the community.

As part of the festivities, several traditional leaders were carried on palanquins while dancing and interacting with the crowd. The procession attracted a large number of spectators who had gathered to enjoy the celebrations.

However, the festive atmosphere was briefly disrupted when one of the Queen Mothers reportedly lost her balance while being carried on a palanquin.

Footage circulating on social media shows the traditional leader falling from the palanquin as people nearby quickly rushed to check on her.

The circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear, and it is not immediately known whether she sustained any serious injuries. No further details about her condition have been made public.

Despite the incident, the Mozama Festival continues to bring together traditional leaders, residents and visitors to celebrate the culture and traditions of Gomoa Tarkwa.
