A Nigerian woman has shared a surprising encounter with a man who allegedly refused to pursue a relationship with her because he believed she would gain significant weight after having children.
The married mother of two revealed that the man recently contacted her, expressing surprise that she had remained slim despite having two children.
According to her, the man had previously told her that he did not see a future with her because he expected her body to change after childbirth.
She said she never asked him about their future or tried to convince him otherwise, choosing instead to move on after he allegedly ghosted her.
The woman recalled the incident in a social media post, saying the same man recently sent her a message expressing disbelief at her appearance.
“‘I cannot believe you look this good,’” she quoted him as saying.
She questioned how he could have doubted God’s plan for her while making assumptions about how she would look after motherhood.
She also criticised his decision to ghost her rather than communicate his feelings openly, describing such behaviour as cowardly.
The woman concluded her post with an Igbo expression, “Chineke Daalu na mmadu abu Chi,” which she used to emphasise her belief that God, rather than human beings, determines people’s lives.
Her story has since sparked reactions online, with many social media users discussing body changes after childbirth, unrealistic expectations in relationships and the importance of not judging potential partners based on assumptions about their future appearance.
