A video claiming to show a man known as “Efo” walking on water in the Volta Region has circulated online, though the footage itself shows something considerably less mysterious: two men wading through a large, flooded body of water.
The clip shows the men standing waist-deep in murky floodwater, consistent with the kind of seasonal flooding common in low-lying parts of the Volta Region, rather than any indication of the men actually walking on the water’s surface.
Despite this, the video has been shared with captions asserting the man possesses spiritual powers, with some commenters attributing the claim to broader stereotypes about the Volta Region’s association with traditional spiritual practices.
It’s worth noting that such regional stereotypes, while common in Ghanaian popular discourse, aren’t a substantiation of any specific claim, and this particular video, examined plainly, appears to show ordinary wading through floodwater rather than any extraordinary feat.
