Tinubu Can Decide 2027 Election Outcome Without Opposition Analyst Alleges

President Bola Tinubu may even “write his own election result” in 2027, according to political analyst Imran Wakili, who has accused the president of acting repeatedly without repercussions.

A social media commentator has alleged a pattern of unchecked executive overreach by President Bola Tinubu, citing what he characterises as violations of the Constitution.

The critic pointed to three specific instances as evidence: the suspension of a sitting governor without apparent consequences, the prolonged detention of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai on charges described as ordinarily bailable, and the freezing of Osun State Government’s bank accounts.

He contended that in each case, the President faced no resistance or legal challenge despite constitutional safeguards.

Regarding El-Rufai’s case, he highlighted that the detention had stretched to 170 days, with 50 of those days passing without public explanation for the continued holding.

The commentator further suggested that Tinubu holds sufficient influence to determine the outcome of the 2027 presidential election unimpeded.

He argued that should the President pursue a constitutionally prohibited third term, the National Assembly would capitulate and ratify it, characterising opposition lawmakers as lacking the resolve to mount meaningful resistance.

He concluded that despite the President’s actions contradicting the Constitution, no consequences would follow.
