Tinubu swears in Enitan as Head of Civil Service

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF). 
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday, August 27. 
The President administered the oath of office on Enitan barely a week after announcing his appointment as successor to Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack. 
Enitan’s appointment was announced by the Presidency on August 19, 2026, with his assumption of office scheduled to take effect from August 27.
The new Head of Service and his predecessor had earlier visited President Tinubu at the State House on Friday, August 21, as part of preparations for him to take over the leadership of the federal civil service. 
Enitan, from Osun state, was the most senior permanent secretary in the federal civil service at the time of his appointment. 
He had served as a permanent secretary for seven years and seven months, with postings to the ministry of police affairs, the ministry of humanitarian affairs and the office of the vice-president. 
He was the permanent secretary in the federal ministry of education before his appointment as HoCSF. 
With his assumption of office, Enitan takes charge of the federal civil service as the administration pursues reforms aimed at improving efficiency, professionalism and service delivery. 
Tinubu had charged him to consolidate existing reforms and innovations in the civil service while deepening professionalism and efficiency across the service.
