Two motorcyclists, in their 50s and 60s, have died following a serious multi-vehicle collision on a country road.

Police were called to reports of the crash on the B676 between Melton and Saxby in Leicestershire the previous day.

A Yamaha motorbike, a Honda motorcycle, and an Audi A4 were involved in the fatal collision.

The East Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene, but the two motorcyclists were sadly pronounced dead there.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was not injured.

No arrests have been made following the crash, and police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information that could assist Leicestershire Constabulary with its investigation has been urged to get in touch.

Detective Constable Emma Neeves said enquiries into the incident were continuing, and she wished to speak with anyone who could help.

She appealed to motorists who were on that stretch of road the previous day to come forward, particularly anyone with dashcam footage.

She added that her appeal also extended to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw any of the vehicles beforehand, stressing that any information provided, no matter how small it might seem, could assist the investigation.
