Controversial social media critic, Martins Otse Vincent, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has strongly criticised Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State over his high-profile visits to President Bola Tinubu and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

VeryDarkMan described Adeleke as a “political puppet” and questioned the political optics of the visit, particularly the presentation of a certificate of return to Wike after his victory in the Osun State governorship election.

The activist argued that Adeleke’s recent political engagements could signal a closer relationship with members of the All Progressives Congress-led federal government.

He also questioned Adeleke’s reported endorsement of President Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election shortly after securing another term as Osun governor.

According to VeryDarkMan, the governor’s endorsement could have wider political consequences, particularly given Tinubu’s expected bid for another term in office.

He further criticised Adeleke for visiting the Presidential Villa to thank Tinubu for what the governor described as providing a level playing field for the Osun governorship election.

Adeleke had said the visit was intended to appreciate the President for allowing the election to take place in what he considered a free and fair atmosphere.

However, VeryDarkMan questioned the political implications of the governor’s decision to publicly commend Tinubu and engage with senior figures within the federal government.

The critic also compared Adeleke’s approach with that of former Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, whom he praised for resisting pressure during his political confrontation with the Federal Government.

VeryDarkMan said he respected Fubara because the former governor was willing to “fight” for what he believed in, even though he eventually lost his political position.

His comments have added to the growing debate over Adeleke’s political relationship with Tinubu, Wike and the APC-led federal government.

The controversy comes as political activities begin to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the alliances and positions of major political figures attracting increasing public attention.
