A car mechanic has been caught on camera cutting his apprentice’s hair with a pair of scissors in public, after the young man reportedly refused to visit the barbershop despite being given money to do so.
In the video, the mechanic is seen carefully trimming the apprentice’s hair as onlookers watch, with the caption “We don’t joke here” accompanying the clip.
Throughout the process, the apprentice stood still without resistance, at times even smiling, as his boss carried out the impromptu haircut.
According to the mechanic, he had given the apprentice money the previous day specifically to get a proper haircut at the salon, but the young man reportedly pocketed the money instead and failed to do so.
Frustrated by the situation, the mechanic decided to take matters into his own hands.
The video has since drawn attention online, with many social media users finding humour in the unconventional disciplinary method, while others weighed in on the master-apprentice relationships common within Ghana’s informal trade sector.
