YouTuber Chris Sails arrested for allegedly lying to cops about his kids being in danger

YouTuber Chris Sails was arrested after allegedly telling police that his children had fallen into a body of water, prompting a major search-and-rescue operation, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The Waller County Sheriff’s Office responded on August 16 to a report of a suspicious person running around and jumping onto residents’ cars. Officers arriving at the scene allegedly found Sails sitting in the roadway beside a light pole and appearing to pray. Police said he began rolling around in the street moments later.
According to the court documents, officers questioned Sails, who allegedly told them that his children had fallen into a body of water directly behind his home.
Authorities said they immediately launched a search and rescue operation involving fire department vehicles, rescue boats, specialised sonar equipment and aerial drones. The search was eventually called off after officers discovered that the children were safe with family members.
Sails was arrested on August 17 and charged with a misdemeanor count of knowingly making a false statement to law enforcement. He was released the following day after posting bond. The allegations against Sails are based on claims contained in the court documents, and an arrest or charge does not establish guilt.
