The suspects were apprehended by the command’s Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad following an intelligence-led investigation.
During the operation, officers also recovered what is believed to be part of the ransom paid by the victims’ family, as well as a motorcycle suspected to have been used in carrying out the abduction.
Police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh confirmed the development in a statement issued in Akure, describing the arrests as a significant step in the command’s ongoing battle against kidnapping and violent crime.
According to the statement, the case was first reported on May 12 by Andrew Yohana, who informed police that his two sons Jehu, aged 10, and Yohana, aged 5 had been snatched on their way to school in Ore.

The trail led first to two prime suspects, Taofeek Lukman, 23, and Blessing Saturday, 27, who were arrested in the Alaba area of Ore. A sum of ₦251,000, suspected to be part of the ransom the family had paid, was recovered from them.
A subsequent raid on another hideout linked to the suspects turned up an unregistered motorcycle believed to have been used in the kidnapping.
Further investigation led to the arrest of three additional suspects Peter Moses, 25, Sunday Isaac, 23, and Sanusi Dan Asabe, 37.
The spokesperson noted that all suspects have made confessional statements and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
