New incredible train line covering 372 miles launches – tickets start at £11.70

A new train is launching between Sweden and Norway, spanning 372 miles. The new direct service from Malmö, Sweden’s third-largest city, to the Norwegian capital, Oslo, begins on Monday (June 15).
The service is run by the Swedish rail company Snälltåget, with tickets for the entire one-way journey starting at £11.70, depending on the time of year. The service will travel along Sweden’s west coast and will give passengers what has been described as a “window seat guide” to the surrounding natural beauty. The route takes six-and-a-half hours and will include a stop in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-biggest city after the capital, Stockholm.
It will also call in at several Swedish and Norwegian coastal destinations along the way, such as Lund, Helsingborg, Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad.
There will be one train to and from Malmö and Oslo each day.
It will leave Malmö at 6:38am and arrive at Oslo at 1:16pm, except for Sundays when it will depart at 7:05am.
The service from Oslo to Malmö route will run in the afternoon, departing at 2:48pm and arriving in the Swedish city at 9:25pm, according to The Independent.
Tickets for the train include two pieces of hand luggage, plus one smaller personal item.
The trains also have an onboard restaurant called Krogen, but travellers are encouraged to book a table and pre-order a meal when buying their ticket.
The Swedish tourist board has given advice on how passengers can make the most of the scenery when travelling, splitting the journey into three geographical stages.
The first stage, Malmö to Gothenburg, travellers are encouraged to sit on the left-hand side of the train for coastal views or on the right for historic landmarks.
In the second stage, Gothenburg to Mellerud, people are recommended to sit on the right-hand side for stunning lake and river views, including Lake Vänern which is among the biggest in Europe.
While for the final phase, Mellerud to the Kornsjö Border, the Swedish tourist board says either side of the train will offer great views.
This includes the Granite Canyons where the train drives in between vertical grey stone, The Independent reports.
