World Cup 2026: ‘You don’t scare anybody’ – Ex-Chelsea star slams Brazil after 1-1 draw with Morocco

Former Chelsea player and current TV pundit, Craig Burley has shared his opinion on Brazil after their 1-1 draw with Morocco in the FIFA World Cup.
The five-time world champions did not perform at their peak in their first match of the tournament.
Mohamed Ouahbi’s team began the match with great intensity, taking the lead in the 21st minute. PSV Eindhoven’s Ismael Saibari managed to chip Alisson Becker, giving the African champions an early advantage.
Vinicius Junior brought Brazil level in the 32nd minute with a display of exceptional individual skill. Nevertheless, Brazil was largely outperformed by Morocco throughout the game.
Burley criticized Brazil for their lackluster opening performance, asserting that the Selecao do not pose a threat to their rivals.
The former Chelsea midfielder remarked, as reported by ESPN FC on X, “[Brazil] don’t scare anybody. … They have moments, but they don’t frighten you.”
Brazil find themselves in Group C alongside Morocco, Scotland, and Haiti, and they are anticipated to advance to the knockout rounds with ease.
A victory over Morocco would have significantly enhanced their prospects of finishing at the top of the group.
