NSCDC secures conviction of four oil pipeline vandals in Delta State

The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has secured the conviction of four suspected oil pipeline vandals.
DSC Anthony Uchenna, CDPRO, Delta State Command, said in a statement that Justice Olubanjo of the Federal High Court, Asaba, convicted four suspects, namely Sylvania Elvis, Peter Ojichini, Bala Idris Adey and Joel Bala Emmanuel, for conspiracy and tampering with oil pipelines.
According to the statement, the suspects, who were investigated by intelligence officers of the NSCDC Delta State Command, were found guilty of the offences by the judge, who avowed that the prosecution had proved the essential elements of the charges beyond reasonable doubt.
They were accordingly sentenced to prison on each count.
The Delta State Commandant of NSCDC, Chinedu F. Igbo, warned criminals against all forms of vandalism and urged them to be law-abiding citizens.
He also advised them to take advantage of legitimate empowerment opportunities and avoid the consequences associated with criminal activities.
He assured that the NSCDC Delta State Command would continue its efforts to protect the nation’s economic assets.
