Ondo: Amotekun debunks bandit attack, directs 24-hour patrol

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, says residents of the state should disregard reports of bandit invasion in the state and refrain from spreading unverified information.
This was contained in a statement on Wednesday in Akure by Superintendent Jimoh Adeniken, the agency’s Public Relations Officer (PRO).
According to Adeniken, there is no confirmed case of bandit invasion or occupation in any part of the state, as speculated in the rumours making the rounds.
“Residents are urged not to panic or spread unverified information capable of creating fear and unnecessary tension among the populace.
“The information being circulated regarding the presence of bandits in the Akure metropolis is false.
“Citizens are encouraged to continue their lawful daily activities and business engagements without fear, while also remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious movements or activities to security agencies,” he said.
The PRO also said Adetunji Adeleye, Amotekun Corps Commander in the state, had directed all area commanders, coordinators and heads of tactical units, to continue 24-hour special patrols across the 18 local government areas of the state.
“The commander said the patrol should particularly be around schools, churches, public facilities, critical national assets, and other strategic locations to prevent and combat any kind of criminal activities.
“Citizens are encouraged to continue their lawful daily activities and business engagements without fear, while also remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious movements or activities to security agencies.
“The corps reaffirms its commitment to protecting the people of Ondo State and maintaining a safe environment for residents and visitors alike,” he said.
