Osun 2026: APC candidate promises violence-free election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has assured the electorate of a violence-free poll, urging them to disregard rumours of unrest.

Oyebamiji gave the assurance on Thursday at a rally in the Odo-Otin area of the state.

The APC governorship candidate stated that no one would be allowed to intimidate or harass voters from participating in the election.

He warned that any thug or hoodlum caught harassing the electorate would be dealt with by security operatives.

He also expressed optimism about winning the election, adding that his victory would usher in a new era of development in the state.

Oyebamiji urged voters to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and not sell them for any reason.

He said: “Don’t sell your PVC. 

“It is your power and licence to participate in the election.

“I urge you to keep your PVC safe. 

“Those who recently registered should ensure they collect it on time.”

Oyebamiji further promised that if elected, his administration would not discriminate against any part of the state.

He said: “Our manifesto will address every sector.

“For rural areas, our focus is to leverage agriculture to boost the economy and provide basic infrastructure that will support farmers and reduce hunger.

“I will ensure that health, education, and commerce receive the necessary attention.”
