2027 elections: We are competing with thieves – Atiku
The Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has described the 2027 election as a contest against “thieves”, accusing those in power of stealing the election and the country’s economy.
In a video shared on his X handle, Atiku said
“We are competing with thieves. They stole the election. Now they have stolen the economy. They have stolen everything,”
The former vice president also reaffirmed his commitment to restoring fuel subsidy if elected president, saying his position had not changed despite comments attributed to one of his aides.
He argued that subsidy removal had pushed more Nigerians into poverty, stressing that the government’s responsibility was to protect the welfare of citizens.
Atiku said Nigeria is rich enough to provide relief for its people by way of subsidy.
