President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive ordering the enrolment of all Nigerians into the National Identity Management Commission database by the end of 2026.
This was disclosed by the NIMC Director-General/CEO, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, while speaking on a television programme on Sunday.
According to her, the commission has so far captured 137,371,080 Nigerians in its database.
She said the commission has now been mandated by the President to go down to the community level and enrol every single Nigerian, noting that he had given the agency until the end of the year to achieve this.
To meet the target, the NIMC has partnered with relevant organisations under the World Bank’s Identification for Development project.
