Two arrested for selling dummy phones as originals in Adamawa

Men of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected kingpins allegedly involved in defrauding customers by selling dummy phones through a network of agents across the state.
Disclosing their arrest to newsmen, the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspects, identified as Audu Abubakar and Nasiru Hassan, both residents of Bauchi Street in Yola North Local Government Area, were arrested following complaints from victims who discovered that the phones they purchased from them were non-functional replicas.
Nguroje said items recovered from the suspects included several dummy phones and other exhibits.
The police imagemaker added that the state Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Hassan, had directed that the suspects be thoroughly investigated and charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
