Beatrice Owarewa Siaw, popularly known as Nana Yaa, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Patrons and former parliamentary aspirant for the Asante Mampong Constituency, has passed away.
She reportedly died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
The cause of her death has not yet been officially disclosed.
Nana Yaa was well known for her political activities in the Asante Mampong Constituency, where she had previously sought to represent the NPP as its parliamentary candidate.
She was also known for her philanthropic activities and support for people and communities in the constituency.
Recent reports had identified Nana Yaa as an NPP parliamentary hopeful for Asante Mampong.
Her death has left family members, political colleagues, supporters and residents who knew her mourning.
