The Rivers State Police Command has discharged three of the officers involved in last Thursday’s murder of Anthony Obodo, a University of Port Harcourt alumni, along Ada George in Port Harcourt.
Additionally, the leadership stated that an inspector on the team who ran away following the victim’s shooting has been deemed a deserter.
This was revealed on Wednesday when Olugbenga Adepoju, the State Commissioner of Police, paraded the three officers in front of reporters in Port Harcourt.
According to Adepoju, the move came after the inquiry was completed and the officers’ “culpability” was established.
“The officers being paraded today have been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force and will be charged to court,” Adepoju said.
“The Command has taken appropriate disciplinary action against the police personnel involved.”
