Aregbesola: I’ve not been intimate with any other woman except my wife

The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has said that he has never been intimate with any other woman since he married his wife, Sherifat.

He stated this at a rally of the party in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

Aregbesola, who spoke in Yoruba language, said his fidelity was part of a personal test he set for himself.

The former two-term governor of Osun State said: “Oh Lord my God, You are the one I am serving, and I did not add any other thing to it.

“What I am about to say, only a few men can say it: Because of your fear, I never had any intimacy with another woman since I married my wife. 

“I told God that next June, we must do it at the Government House.”

The Osun governorship election is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The ADC is presenting a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Naseem Salaam, as its candidate for three-horse election.

The incumbent, Ademola Adeleke, will be flying the flag of Accord, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) is fielding Bola Oyebamiji.
