A four-year-old boy has died after falling into an abandoned pit at a community centre in Asikuma in the Central Region, reportedly while trying to retrieve a football during play.
A video from the scene show community members gathered around the open pit, its wooden covering removed and leaning against nearby debris, with a makeshift ladder placed inside as residents responded to the incident.
The tragedy has left the community in shock, with neighbours and family members reportedly gathering at the site in the aftermath.
